FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Yamji, the new web community for movie fans that is dedicated to user reviews and discussions, and WildVoice, the community for creating and sharing podcasts, launched their new movie review podcast feature today at http://www.wildvoice.com/launch/yamji.aspx. Yamji teamed with WildVoice to provide audio reviews and podcasting capabilities to its site. The two online communities let users create and share audio reviews using the Web 2.0 mashup provided together by the two sites.
"Podcasting is the ideal medium for movie reviews, allowing user-critics to fully convey the passion and emotions they feel about a movie in their own voice," said Michael Levy, co-founder of WildVoice. "It's in the voice that we sense excitement for a film when we ask friends for a recommendation. With WildVoice podcasts, Yamji offers that same experience to anyone who listens to audio reviews on the site."
Yamji
Currently in pre-beta, Yamji allows users to create written and audio movie reviews, comment on other posts or simply listen to what others think about a particular film. The number of reviews and discussions is growing daily, with a mix of current and classic, blockbuster and independent films featured.
"We love movies. In fact, we obsess over them and saw a need to create a community where other movie lovers can share ideas, provide reviews and start a discussion," said Theron Parlin, co-founder of Yamji and creator of the popular blog ThoughtMechanics. "This is for people who hate the out-of-touch film critics and one-way conversations about movies. It's time for Web 2.0 to open the discussion and build a true community that celebrates film. That is what Yamji is all about."
Podcasting adds an exciting, highly personal new element to Yamji for reviews that can be heard online or downloaded to an MP3 player. WildVoice offers two tools that make it fun and easy to create a Podcast. WildVoice Studio is a Windows application that enables professional-quality audio recordings that can include background music, special effects and pre-recorded clips. WildVoice Shout allows users to record directly from the Website, with no downloads required, for a quick and easy Podcast.
Movie fans can create their own reviews or hear those from others by visiting www.yamji.com or www.wildvoice.com/launch/yamji.aspx.
